With the continuous development and growth of China's aero-engine manufacturing industry and the enhancement of the overall national strength, China has already had the ability to develop its own large civil aircraft independently. Comparing with USA and some European countries, we still have the gap in manufacturing technology. In order to improve the technology of LM Company and the country's aero-engine manufacturing industry, A Aviation Product Development Project was introduced to LM Company. The Project is high in technology. If the Project could be finished on time, integral machining and Blue Etching inspection technology will fill the domestic blank on similar parts'manufacturing technology, which will have great importance on not only the company but also the national aero-engine manufacturing industry. A Aviation Product Development Project has heavy workload and involves the participation of many different divisions. How to make the Project finish on time is the subject that should be studied by the program managers. Meanwhile, it is also the subject analyzed in the thesis.Based on the theory and tools of program management, the thesis studies the schedule management of A Aviation Product Development Project. A complete schedule plan is the guideline of schedule control. After defining the working scope of the Project, WBS and responsibility matrix are established, so as to make sure that every job is distributed and everyone has his work to do. Analogous Estimation, PERT and Expert Judgment are the methods used for calculating the working time of the Project, according to which the schedule plan is issued. The opinion of schedule control of the Project is prior control based. During the implementation, the progress reports including Earned Value Analysis are used to monitor the progress constantly. Once the Project's progress variance is detected, crashing and fast tracking are adopted as soon as possible. After that the variance is corrected on time and the schedule of the Project is respected finally. By using the scientific project management methods and tools, A Aviation Product Development Project is finished successfully. The identified risks that might impact the schedule of the Project are environment, human resource, production, economy and quality. Meanwhile, a corresponding risk response plan is made, which provides the assurance for the Project.Through the study of schedule management on A Aviation Product Development Project, the thesis intends to find out the common methods and applicable tools for this kind of project's schedule management, provide referential experience for future project management, and give the suggestions to perfect the project management system of LM Company.
