Research In The Development Countermeasure Of Tianjin MICE

As one of the component city in national Bohai Economic Rim Region, Tianjin, especially Tianjin Binhai New District, has beared the responsibility of the national economy growth, especially that of the third polar for regional economy. In condition of Integration of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Tianjin's strategy for economic development has aroused the national, or even world-wide attention. Under such circumstances, we have to develop the exhibition tourism and push the growth of city's sustainable development.Generally, national conference and exhibition industry has been in a stage of extensive development. Most companies with small scales do not have the capacity to hold exhibitions due to their less prominent in main business and lack of clear market localization and development strategy. On the other hand, some companies with large scale, to some extent, are less competitive compared with world-famous exhibition company. In addition, professional collaboration in this industry has not been formed, and the industry supporting services have been relatively lag behind.To promote the international competitiveness, Chinese convention and exhibition tourism has to learn from developed exhibition industry for experience, while the systematic and comparative study on international exhibition industry with Global perspective is not so common. Presently, the international exhibition industry is demonstrating a new tendency-further cooperation among exhibition industry and tourism and comprehensive application of new technology in exhibition industry. In addition, the framework of new exhibition tourism including festival, meeting, conference, exhibition, matches and tourism is being constructed. Consequently, the detailed study on the overall rules of international exhibition tourism from globalization and exhibition aspect is meaningful in policy suggestion of national exhibition tourism.It has been a drastic development in Tianjin's exhibition tourism, while some chaos situation still exists in this process due to lack of theory guidance. So this thesis studied the corresponding factors related with exhibition tourism competiveness through diamond model. We qualitatively analysed the competiveness of exhibition tourism from following six aspects including Factors of production, Demand conditions, performance of the related and supporting industry, Enterprise's strategic structure and competition, government and society. We have found the measures to further improve the competiveness of Tianjin exhibition tourism and offered a reference for government's policy and evaluation.The scales and quantities of Tianjin exhibition tourism are far less competitive compared with Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. While as one of the important part in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei strategy development plan, Tianjin has to Take responsibility of Bypassing pressure for Beijing's population and traffic condition. The Tianjin city will take exhibition tourism as one of the most promising industry in future development. So the government of Tianjin has tried the utmost to accomplish Resource integration and optimization in basic construction and policy of security system during the last years. Till now, the results have preliminarily revealed for economic improvement and Industry leading role.Scientific construction and development of the city's exhibition tourism is the foundation of this thesis. This will be effective to further understanding of corresponding factors in exhibition tourism and establishment of proper model of exhibition tourism. In this thesis, analyses have been carried out according to national and international researches in this industry and background of Tianjin exhibition tourism. We have discussed the development of our national economy in 2014 and 2015 and proposed the suggestion for further development in exhibition tourism. On this basis, we further studied the competitiveness aspects for Tianjin exhibition tourism through diamond model raised by Michael Potter and proposed the developing strategy for Tianjin exhibition tourism.We have drew the conclusion that Tianjin has its own preponderance in production factor, huge market demands and ample opportunity; on the other hand, Tianjin still has space to improvement in enterprise strategy, structure and competitiveness.By introducing new technology and advanced management idea to Tianjin, the government of Tianjin will undoubtedly carry out reasonable long-term developing strategy combining with the local actual situation, and positively guide the direction for exhibition tourism. In the meantime, the government will Standardize the procedures and methods, fulfill brand strategy, and propose more sustainable policy to promote the development of exhibition tourism. The above-mentioned measures will, to some extent, push further prosperity of exhibition tourism.
