Research On The Choice Of Travel Mode Of Residents In Beijing

In recent years,urban traffic demand has been increasing rapidly,with the development of economy and the living standard of the residents.Traffic congestion in large cities has become norm and more terrible than before,due to limited traffic resources and low traffic management level,which seriously affected the urban residents travel.Beijing is China's capital,economic and political center,such problems are particularly prominent.According to the experience and lessons of advanced urban development,priority to the development of public transport is an effective means to solve this problem.The proportion of green travel in Beijing is lower than that in Tokyo,New York and other international metropolis.Therefore,the research on residents travel structure and the impact factors is essential.This paper studies the overall situation and development trend of Beijing's traffic,the basic situation of residents' travel structure,and draws lessons from the advanced methods of public transportation development,traffic flow forecasting and travel intention analysis,based on the research on the current situation of domestic and foreign related research.Travel behavior was studied through the aspects of travel mode connotation,travel mode classification,influencing factors and other aspects were described,by combining traditional utility theory,behavioral economics and the theory of externality.Then the paper construct an asymmetric utility function with psychological factors and external influences to make it more appreciate for the actual situation.Binary logistic regression which studies the relationship between choice results such as car,subway,bus,bike and the influencing factors was carried out by sorting out the data from questionnaires to analyze the direction and degree of influence of various travel characteristics and personal characteristics,as well as the characteristics of externalities.Finally,after the comprehensive analysis of the traffic development and the related characteristics of residents' travel choice in Beijing,this paper analyzes the characteristics of Beijing's public transportation development and put forward some strategies and suggestions from three aspects:policy,technology and concept so as to give priority to the development of public transport,improve the travel structure and rise the proportion of green travel.
