Urban Park Post-use Evaluation Research For User Needs

In China,megacities with high-density built environment have huge population and limited public open space resources.Most of the existing open public open spaces are intensively used and especially during holidays these spaces are full of people.Taking urban parks as example,no matter the quality is good enough or not,most of them are often occupied by people from different background of economic and cultural levels.Therefore,seemingly,most of urban parks are welcomed and well-used and few of them are abandoned or ruined.And according to the criterion evaluated an urban park,these parks are very successful since their utilization rates are quite high.But a question is if it is really true that an urban park with a high utilization rate can satisified indeed requirments of users.Based on the Post Occupancy Evaluation(POE)theroy,this paper combines Maslow's hierarchy of needs,Place theroy,and then according to the process "Research program ? Data collection ? Data sorting ? Data analysis ? Comprehensive evaluation ? Promotion proposal",which is suitable for the POE of the urban park,and through the empirical case to verify its effectiveness,to assess the efficiency of the use of the park and its ability to meet the needs of users,and targeted to improve the park environment and quality of service recommendations.Firstly,the POE scheme of urban park is designed according to the above theories and methods.The scheme includes three main parts.One is objective analysis of the park surrounding environment and internal environmental characteristics,user characteristics,temporal and spatial distribution,behavior characteristics.Second,evaluate the user's satisfaction with the park as well as the various functional areas.The third is based on the user's five needs(Accessibility,Safety,Comfort,Suitability,Place feeling)on the park's environment and service quality comprehensive evaluation.Then,selected a medium-sized park-Li Xiang Park for depth observation and analysis.The results showed that the overall utilization rate was high,the activities were rich,sports fitness and recreation-oriented,dominated by middle-aged users,different gender or age groups have different tendencies for the choice of space and time.The overall satisfaction of the park is most affected by factors such as the atmosphere,rest,lighting and shelter facilities.According to the user's demand for the park's comprehensive evaluation of the results is a higher degree of accessibility,but the internal accessibility is low;safety and comfort to meet the needs of a better degree,but there are still some local omission;Small,inadequate facilities,the overall practicality is not high;park atmosphere is good,but the cultural characteristics of the embodiment is not strong,slightly weak feeling of place.Finally,Targeted to the overall layout,service facilities,landscape and cultural aspects which did not fully meet the needs,and given recommendations to enhance.
