The Influence Of College Students' Emotional Awareness On Interpersonal Relationships

Emotional awareness is the ability to identify and describe their emotions and others, it plays an important role in interpersonal. The purpose of this study is to explore the emotional awareness of college students affect interpersonal relationships. This article is divided into two studies. First of all, using questionnaire of the subjective reports, to explore the relationship between emotional awareness, positive and negative emotion, and interpersonal communication, and found that emotional awareness have an impact on interpersonal relationship in the relatively stable and lasting emotional. Then, using the method of experiment, to investigate emotional face recognition of the level of emotional awareness in the laboratory evoked emotional states, and found that emotional awareness have an impact on interpersonal relationship in temporary and operational environment.The results of the study are as follows:(1)Be aware of their own, awareness of others and the awareness scores, respectively with the positive and negative emotions have significant positive correlation, negative correlation. Be aware of their own, awareness of others and the awareness scores, respectively with interpersonal relationship have significant negative correlation. There is significant negative correlation between positive emotion and interpersonal relationship. There was a significant positive correlation between negative emotions and interpersonal relationship.(2)The awareness scores could negatively predict interpersonal relationship, the awareness scores could positively predict positive emotion, the awareness scores could negatively predict negative emotion. The awareness scores and positive emotion could negative predict interpersonal relationship, negative emotion could positively predict interpersonal relationship.(3)There are significant differences in the emotional face recognition reaction time in the level of emotional awareness group and positive and negative emotional state.(4)There are significant differences in the correct rate of emotional face recognition in the level of emotional awareness group and positive and negative emotional state.From the results of this research can draw the following conclusions: college students emotional awareness will affect the quality of interpersonal relationship, emotional awareness capacity can influence the efficiency of facial emotion recognition, emotional awareness capacity can also affect the interpersonal relationships questionnaire scores. The conclusion of this study can make such a prediction that emotional awareness capacity can improve interpersonal relationship, and make a useful exploration of the relationships in the emotional realm.
