Before starting a formal communication,people often have a free talk,this kind of content contains a little or do not have the information,but it is very important for Chinese people.We know that Chinese people pay attention to interpersonal relationships.For Chinese society,the relationship exists in everywhere and every time.And the use of phatic communion,just have the effect of adjust relationships.So phatic communion has important status in Chinese communication.For Chinese,they do not need to learn phatic communion,they naturally can control this native language.However,for foreign students,learning Chinese phatic communion may not be so simple.Foreign students often make pragmatic failure,and it even causes some unnecessary embarrassment.In this paper,we research foreigners' chinese phatic communion usage condition through questionnaire.After statistics,we analyze the reason why foreign students make pragmatic failure.And we offer some suggestions for Chinese phatic communion teaching.This paper will be divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,this part analyzes on the research of the former researchers.Separately from the ontology research,phatic communion pragmatic failures research and the teaching research.We sum The study of phatic communion in Chinese present situation,the research results.And expounding the theoretical foundation and innovation of this article.The second part for the ontology study of greetings,separately from the definition,classification and function of phatic communion three parts.We make a classification of phatic communion from the Angle of function,include called greetings,greetings,welcome and farewell,thanks and apologies,compliments,and free talk.The society function has two parts.The main function is to establish,develop and present relationships,to achieve interpersonal harmony orientation.second function is to convey feelings,create an atmosphere of communication,as a formal communication to create human condition.The third part is the phatic communion of pragmatic failure analysis for foreign students.First we devised a questionnaire about Chinese phatic communion.Then analyzing the the pragmatic failure of foreign students.,sum up as the native language and native language culture interference and the target language generalization,learners' learning strategy and communication strategy,cultural attitude of the target language countries and teacher ignore Chinese phatic communion teaching.The fourth part of this article for Chinese phatic communion teaching suggestions.Include three aspects: Chinese phatic communion teaching principle,Chinese phatic communion teaching methods and Specific teaching suggestions.The last part is the conclusion of this article.
