An Analysis Of The Practice Of Multi-paragraph Simulation Interpretation In Chinese-English Communication

Based on simulated training of Chinese-English consecutive interpretation of business promotion speeches in overseas,typical issues of the interpreter spotted in Plural-figure paragraph interpretation are summarized and analyzed in this thesis,and corresponding strategies are proposed as well.Original passages adopted in this thesis is taken from units regarding provincial business promotion in overseas,of the Book Field Interpreting(student book),published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.Plural figure paragraphs usually embody in the description of macro condition in form of data listing in the original passage.Many big numbers and parallel sectors are contained in the message,of which only the complete combination of numbers and relative words serve as meaningful messages.Interpreted passages and taken notes are sorted out and summarized by the writer after simulated interpretation practice.Issues exposed in interpretation of Plural-figure paragraphs are classified into mistaken interpretation,number omission,slow output,and missed sectors including units of measurements before and after the numbers.Thus issues spotted in interpretation of plural-figure paragraphs are identified as insufficient preparation of interpretation,lexical and syntactic errors.Thus the corresponding strategies are sponsored,including preparation of expressions of figure and other sectors.This thesis offers reference regarding consecutive interpretation of contents whose forms are similar to that of plural-figure paragraphs.
