How To Strengthen The Study Of The Functions Of The Democratic Parties In Participating In The Administration Of State Affairs Under The New Situation

The system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China is a political party system with distinctive Chinese characteristics. The most striking feature of this system is that the democratic parties adhere to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. The CPC is the ruling party while the democratic parties are participating ones, whose most important function is participation in and deliberation on state affairs and democratic supervision.In the new era, the convention of the CPC United Front Work Conference presents unprecedented opportunities to the united front work as well as the democratic parties. Improving the capacity building of participating in and deliberating on state affairs under the new circumstances has a direct bearing on the political positions and influence of the democratic parties and even concerns the layout of China's overall reform and development. Thereby, democratic parties have focused their research efforts, both theoretical and practical, on improving capacity building in the new period.In the spirit of the United Front work in the new period and inspired by the author's concrete working experience in Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the September 3rd Society, the present study conducts thorough analysis on existing inadequacies of democratic parties on participation in and deliberation on state affairs.Furthermore, it explores feasible implementations on strengthening the capacity building in the new period, with an aim to constantly improve the democratic parties'performance on such a function.The author hopes that the study can make its due contribution to the theoretical research for the capacity building of democratic parties, thus bettering the work of democratic parties.
