| Having been working for more than ten years as a teacher of Chinese, I always felt it very difficult to expand students’ knowledge scope and temper and enhance students’ capability in Chinese by imparting knowledge only in classroom. Later, for some reason, I became a librarian at the school, As my work went on, I became more and more aware of the importance of library, and found out the fact that it was very realistically significant to select "how to promote the teaching reform of Chinese by making full use of library" as a research project.For this purpose, I made an earnest investigation into the awareness of teachers and students to the library and the status quo of the utilization of library at high schools. I found out that library did not play its due role in the present teaching reform as a matter of fact, for such reasons as the construction of library, and:the users of library (teachers and students) were not very aware of the library resources at their own school and were too busy to visit the library because they were often engrossed in preparation for exams. Against these problems I had discovered, and in connection with my own work experience and earnest consideration, I put forward relevant measures for library at high schools to suit the teaching reform of Chinese at high schools. Since teachers and students do not quite understand library, library should offer courses about the knowledge of library to them, so that they can get to know library. Teachers and students hope to rapidly and accurately find out relevant data, and teachers want to more intensively learn their professional knowledge, enhance their theoretical level and conduct research into professional projects. Therefore, library should reinforce the services of special-topic booklists and indexing and monitoring services of topic-determining. In addition, library should reinforce the construction of a digital library in addition to building traditional one.Against the characteristics of Chinese, and on connection with library at high school, I have designed a series of very innovative countermeasures on how to exert the role of library in the teaching reform of Chinese. As the resources self-owned by teachers of Chinese are relatively scattered, if we can adopt the strategy of resource pool supporting with the help of library, we can not only optimize resources of teachers of Chinese, but also meet individualized demands of teachers in a systematic way. In order to bridge the gap between library and teachers of Chinese, I have put forward the utilization strategy "combining two as one". I suggest that activities of teaching research should be conducted in library and the course of Chinese reading in library should be offered. I have also put forward the strategy of "comprehensive activity bases" and the strategy of" the second classroom". On the basis of my own duties, I have not only made active theoretical exploration but also made practical attempts in these regards. |
