Psychological capital is one of new research fields in organizational behavior and educational psychology. As to primary and middle school teachers who devote much effort to work, the psychological capital not only influences the physical and mental health and job performance of themselves, but also has a great impact on students' achievements and pychological development.A sample of 542 primary and middle school teachers were tested by professional identification scale, teachers' psychological capital scale revised by myself, and the utrecht work engagement scale.This research was use to investigate the current situation of teachers' psychological capital and explore the relationship of psychological capital, professional identification and work engagement. The main conclusions of this study were:(1) The"teachers'psychological capital scale" revised in this study is of fine reliability and validity; it meets the damand of psychometrics and is applicable to the measurement of the teachers' psychological capital of primary school and middle school teachers.(2) As a whole, the teachers from primary and middle school has high psychological capital.In a way, teachers with low pay and great pressure also had low work engagement.(3) Psychological capital, professional identification and work engagement had significant differences in demographic variables. For example, psychological capital differed in age, the type of school,subject and professional title. Professional identification was influenced by gender,marriage,age, the length of teaching services, the type of school, salary, subject and professional title.Teachers had different level of work engagement with gender, age, the type of school, subject and professional title.(4) Psychological capital had a significantly positive correlation with professional identification,and a significantly positive correlation with work engagement, Professional identification was significantly and positively correlated with work engagement.(5) Psychological capital, had a significant relationship with work engagement. Self-efficacy was significantly predicted by role values and professional behavior inclination. The sense of cooperation was significantly predicted by occupation belonging, professional behavior inclination and occupational values.Optimism was significantly predicted by occupation belonging, professional behavior inclination. Resilience was significantly predicted by role values and professional behavior inclination and occupational values. Sincereness was significantly predicted by occupation belonging, professional behavior inclination.(6) Psychological capital and professional identification predicted work engagement significantly. Vigor was predicted by self-efficacy, resilience,optimism, role values and professional behavior inclination. Dedication was predicted by self-efficacy, resilience,optimism and role values. Absorption was predicted by self-efficacy, resilience,optimism, role values and occupation belonging.(7) Psychological capital mediated the relationship between professional identification and work engagement.
