Organ donation coordinators play a decisive role in the process of organ donation.With the reform of medical system,more and more medical institutions began to set up the position of medical social workers.The medical social workers are well trained medically,their knowledge structure and abilities can match the requirements for organ donation coordinators,so more and more medical social workers join the team after the training and examination.However,organ donation deals with many ethical issues,social workers have their own professional values and ethics,which enables them to fall into various ethical dilemmas in the process of organ donation coordination.This study is expected to find the related factors of ethical decision-making and point of view,through the research on ethical dilemmas of the medical social workers in organ donation.The purposes of this research is as follows.First,it discusses their cognition of ethical dilemmas and decision-making factors in donating organs.Second,it helps the medical social workers have a clearer self-understanding of the ethical dilemmas and decision-making factors and master the professional skills.Third,the study let the medical social workers understand the impact of self reflection of the individual life experience and value on organ donation.This study is aimed to explore the medical social workers' observation of ethical issues,the decision-making process and factors while discussing the practices of the works in the organ donation.What ethical problems can make the medical social workers confused under the interactive influence of donators,the families of the donators,the medical team,laws and regulations and social culture? How the medical social workers can make the relevant decisions in the limited time? Based on the motive,this author talks to the medical social workers who engage into organ donation in medical institutions by interviews and material collection,which let the researchers have a deeper understanding of their practices and the theme of this study.The study found that:(1)in the context of maintaining the informed right of the donators,protecting the privacy of the donor and the recipient,the professional roles and team expectation,conflicts of the medical social workers' values,they are easily to have ethical dilemmas.(2)The main principle of making ethical decision for the medical social workers are principle of confidentiality,the legal regulations as the base,the interests of the owners and their families.In view of the above research,the author put forward in the last part of the study that the ethical decision-making process is listed as a part of individual case record in personal aspect,and at the same time,the medical social workers can review the impact of values through the repeated reflection on their attitude towards to life.In department level,the professional abilities of the new workers are enhanced through the supervision;On the part of the hospital,consensus is built and professional evaluation is trusted through team meetings,and in the meanwhile,the good environment atmosphere of ethical institutions is constructed;In the public,it should advocate the organ donation and ensure to respect the privacy of the donators and their families.
