Moral education courses of secondary vocational schools(hereinafter referred to as vocational schools)are the compulsory fundamental courses taken by the students of different majors.They are also the main channel to conduct moral education at school,promoting the development of professional ethics,career awareness and vocational behavior habits of vocational school students by experience accumulation,abilities cultivation,and value guidance as well.Through an empirical investigation on the relevant factors of moral education courses in Shanghai vocational schools,it is found that the genera l situation of moral education courses in Shanghai vocational schools is good,but there still exist some problems in practice level,such as the absence of a whole plan for moral education courses in vocational schools,the lack of moral education course objectives oriented by occupational qualities,the inadequate motivation of moral education course teachers,the superficial researches conducted on moral education courses,students' unclear purposes and lack of enthusiasm for taking moral education courses as well as the absence of enterprises from moral education courses and their dissatisfaction with the occupational qualities of vocational school graduates.The above-mentioned problems occurring in the implementation of moral education courses can be substantially categorized as follows:(1)the omission of subjective understanding,unclear orientation of occupational qualities,and failure to control various moral education resources and forces effectively;(2)the unscientific design of moral education course objectives,and inadequate analysis of occupational quality requirements of vocational school students;(3)the disconnection between the practice of moral education courses and the reality of the school;(4)the unapparent evaluation orientation of overall qualities of moral education courses.Finally,methods to improve moral education courses in Shanghai vocational schools are proposed as follows:(1)to design scientifically moral education course objectives of vocational schools oriented by occupational qualities;(2)to construct a course system of “Broad Moral Education” in vocational schools;(3)to carry out school-based implementation strategy of moral education courses in vocational schools;(4)to make evaluation schemes of moral educa tion courses in vocational schools oriented by overall quality evaluation.
