As we know, the curriculum reform is usually thought as the core of liberal education reform, which key part is the reform of textbooks. Since the policy of "many textbooks on one guideline" has been executed for years in our nation, the Chinese compulsory textbooks of Su Edition for high school, which is well received by many schools in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province, emerge as the times require. While the textbooks are widely used, the research about the Chinese compulsory textbooks of Su Edition for high school is increasing. But in general it is still lack.In this paper, the first edition, the fourth edition and the latest edition of the Chinese compulsory textbooks of Su Edition for high school are selected as the research object, for they are larger changing. It includes the selection of the texts of statistics and theme change, stylistic change, spatial and temporal variation, and the same topic selection position adjustment, which shows us the change of the Chinese compulsory textbooks of Su Edition for high school in the past decades relatively comprehensive.By the summary analysis of the selection change, the author of this paper sums up some characteristics about the selection change of the Chinese compulsory textbooks of Su Edition for high school, which are the sad theme selection retreated, the selection with more rich flavor of the times, selection of instrumental enhancements, and selection of more systematic arrangement. At the same time, the reasons of selection change are also explored from the changes in social background, the change in editorial intent, students, cognitive level and demands change. On this basis, the selection change is useful to the students’ development and inspires teachers to research textbooks. But it is too fast to catch up with the high frequency of the selection change for teachers and students.According to advantages and disadvantages of the selection changes,this paper try to provide a certain theoretical basis for textbooks compiling, and also provide some practical suggestions in using textbooks for teachers and students. In textbook writer’s angle, they should insist on the educational concept of "human-oriented",rich the variety of selection, integrate the selection system and exercise system organically,and make up textbooks which match the development of students’ physical and mental health and the requirements of the times. In the users of the textbooks’ angle, teachers should keep the balance of stability and change in the teaching of same theme, make clear new teaching objectives, understand the authors and works in the teaching of new selection. Students should improve their ability to think independently and choose to study and read the text in purpose.
