The breakthrough and focus of achieving Classical Chinese educational values is to understand and interpret the words. Unification and harmonization of these educational values can be learnt from the theory of close reading, because understanding of characters, words and sentences, and analyzing the deep structure of content are the goals of close reading.The premise of the verbal perusal of classical Chinese is to know the characters of classical Chinese. For the structure aspect, the words with monosyllable take up a large part of classical Chinese, while in most conditions a single "character" can represent a "words". In terms of phoneme, the correct pronunciation of words can help us to realize the musical beauty of classical Chinese. In terms of meaning,Classical Chinese words have the lexical meanings as well as some social and cultural meanings. Besides, to better achieve the verbal perusal, we shouldn’ t just stay at the semantic level, and shouldn’ t do some imagination without texts, but most important thing is that we shouldn ’ t irrationally add a theme before reading the content to accomplish deep digging in the content. The words having the value of verbal perusal can reveal the text theme, increase aesthetic taste and also contain cultural information.A dictionary is a necessary tool for verbal perusal. Through textual induction and cultural restoration, the pragmatic analysis of verbal perusal can help us to study the specific words in a particular situation, discover the meaning of semantics, and crack the deep password of the text.Verbal perusal should start with the composition to let us understand the content as a whole. Through synonyms, accuracy, repetition, taboo, and rhythm to enhance the potential of the rhetoric and other general rhetoric effect, the author’s emotional attitude and social history and other cultural information can be acquired. Analysis of key words can clarify the emotional development of the article, such as "Fuyang"and "Kuai" in Preface to Lanting Pavilion Collection. The application of the reading system with functions of textbook punctuations and annotations can let students truly perceive the reading material, understand the text deeply. Teachers can excavate and realize the educational value of classical Chinese more fully by using verbal perusal.
