The development of history is inseparable from the time, and sequence in time is one of the characteristics of history. It is a kind of basic competencies embodied in the middle school history curriculum, that perceiving history by chronological thinking and using the chronological thinking ability to solve historical problems.With the continuous deepening of the content of history teaching and the students'chronological thinking ability gradually developed and promoted, the specific manifestation and training objectives of the chronological thinking ability are different in different classes of instruction.During the study, this paper adopts the methods of literature analysis and case analysis, selects the angle of teaching processes and considers the characteristics of history. Three chapters contribute to the main body as follows: Chapter one discusses of the importance of cultivating students'thinking ability from three aspects of the history, the history curriculum, the current curriculum and pedagogy reform. Chapter two expounds ways and methods of the integration of chronological thinking into the new teaching from three aspects of the historical content, the evaluation and the analysis of the internal relation. Chapter three expounds ways and methods of improving the thinking ability in review lessons, which correspond to strengthening the sense of chronological history, grasping the clue of historical development and training chronological thinking ability as three training objectives.In conclusion, compared with previous research results, this paper, apart from emphasizing the importance of chronological thinking ability, focuses more on the pedagogies. And in the paper, the scattered, single concept and strategies are extended into a complete and diverse framework. It is good for pedagogical research and practice.
