Acquisition of power projects under construction must have strong professional and technical. The project characteristic determines that the acquisition process has a big uncertainty and tremendous risk. This paper studies the risk management of acquiring power projects under construction, and provides theoretical basis for the risk management measures and methods of the power projects under construction. The paper uses the case analysis,in the XNB hydropower station project as an example, stands in the angle of the acquirer, mainly uses the method of qualitative analysis and practical experience, strives to establish a systematic, universal and practical risk management system of acquiring power projects under construction. At the first, the paper summarizes the characteristics of the risk about acquiring power projects under construction, identifies the risks of acquiring the XNB hydropower station project that according to three work stages of acquiring power projects under construction, and make a list about project risk. Then using the expert evaluation method, the paper assess the risk probabilities and effects about acquiring the XNB hydropower project;using the risk matrix analysis method, determines the extent of each risk in the project, ranks the risks,to get the risk assessment tables about acquiring the XNB hydropower project;determines the major risks about acquiring the XNB hydropower project. Finally,to the major project risks that be assessed,it chooses effective countermeasures from risk avoidance to risk transfer and risk prevention and risk aversion and risk mitigation and risk retention. And it respectively makes specific detailed maneuverability risk responses and control measures.
