Research On The Transformation And Upgrading Of Jiangsu Manufacturing Clusters Under The Background Of Global Value Chain

Under the background of globalization,the concept of localization has not been weakened and on contrary,it is playing more and more important role in economical development and has caused people's extensive attention.Study on local industrial clusters focuses on the division and cooperation of geographically centralized firms through a certain organization form.Local industrial clusters can promote regional industry competitiveness.The approach of global value chains poses emphasis on cross-border linkages and independence among different industries located in discrete places,which provides a novel view prospect for the upgrading of local industrial clusters.In the process of inserting into global value chain,manufacturing clusters in China have met with a lot of realistic problems.The text aims at Jiangsu manufacturing cluster for empirical analysis.I selected the index of Location Quotient to judge the development level and influencing factors of Jiangsu manufacturing cluster,on the basis of which I discussed the international competitiveness of Jiangsu manufacturing cluster and its position in global value chain through GVC position index.Research shows that in the process of inserting into global value chain,it is difficult for Jiangsu manufacturing cluster to enter the high value-added links,such as the independent R&D of core technology,brand expansion and the terminal global sales channels.Moreover,Jiangsu manufacturing cluster has met the suppression from international big buyers and multinational companies who get command of the key technology,global brand and terminal global sales chann.els in developed countries.As a result,Jiangsu manufacturing cluster has been locked in the low links of global value chain and experienced serious attachment for high value-added links.The study shows that under the current situation,the research of the transformation and upgrading of Jiangsu manufacturing cluster is both theoretically necessary and practically urgent.However,under the background of global value chain,there are many constraints in the transformation and upgrading of Jiangsu manufacturing cluster,such as research input,foreign investment,labor cost and the depletion of resource and environment.On account of these deficiencies,the text discussed the specific path of the transformation and upgrading of Jiangsu manufacturing cluster.
