The Overwork And Its Influence Factors Of Migrant Workers

In recent years,with the rapid development of urban industrialization,a large number of rural surplus labor force into the city,migrant workers have become an important part of China's urban labor market.But compared with the city workers,migrant workers have a serious phenomenon of overwork,work long hours not only affect the individual's physical and mental health,reduce work efficiency,but also have adverse effects on the labor market,even the whole social economy.Therefore,pay attention to the migrant workers,analyze the influence factors of overwork,and put forward the policy suggestion to alleviate overwork,have important theoretical and practical significance.On the other hand,they can help improving the rights of migrant workers,promote migrant workers into the city.On the other hand,they can help the government to understand the rules of migrant workers and develop a reasonable labor market policy.Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies in 2012 and 2014,this paper analyzes the factors that influence overwork,the intensity of overwork and the persistence of overwork.In the process of analyzing the influence factors of overwork,the paper applies the Binary Choice Model with sample selection,and analyzes the influence factors of overwork.The results show that the increase of per-hour wage will help reduce the probability of overwork of migrant workers.On average,per-hour wage increased by 1 yuan,the probability of overwork decreased by0.72%.The lower wage of migrant workers,the greater influence of overwork choice on per-hour wage.The higher wage of migrant workers,the smaller influence of overwork choice on per-hour wage.The improvement of education level can alleviate the overwork of migrant workers.The higher the education level,the lower the probability of overwork;Contract is an important factor affecting the overwork of migrant workers,compared with the no contract,the contract will reduce the probability of overwork by 6.06%.In addition,the overwork of migrant workers isalso affected by the type of occupation,loans and the burden from the family(such as marriage,the increase in the number of children at home)and other factors.Secondly,this paper applies the ordered choice model with sample selection to analyze the influence factors of migrant workers' overwork intensity.The results show that the increase of per-hour wage is helpful to reduce the intensity of overwork.On average,per-hour wage increased by 1 yuan,the probability of severe overwork decreased by 0.85%,the probability of moderate overwork,mild overwork increased by 0.72% and 0.13%.The lower wage of migrant workers,the greater influence of overwork intensity choice on per-hour wage.The higher wage of migrant workers,the smaller influence of overwork intensity choice on per-hour wage.The level of education is also an effective factor to reduce the overwork intensity of migrant workers.The probability of severe over labor will decrease with the increase of education,the probability of moderate overwork and mild overwork will rise.The magnitude of moderate overwork probability will be greater than mild overwork.The higher the level of education,the greater the impact of migrant workers on the choice of overwork intensity.Signing the contract will reduce the probability of serious overwork by 10.34%,making the probability of moderate overwork increased by8.38%.Ownership of the house will effectively reduce the intensity of overwork.Loans and the burden from the family(such as marriage,the increase in the number of children at home)will increase the intensity of overwork.In the process of analyzing the influence factors of overwork persistence,the paper applies ordered choice model,and analyzes the influence factors of overwork persistence.The results show that the increase in per-hour wage will help to reduce the persistence of overwork.The improvement of education level will help to reduce the persistence of overwork.Having high school and above education level will make the probability of mild and severe overwork persistence.Signing the contract will significantly reduce the sustainability of overwork in migrant workers,so that the probability of continuing two years of overwork decreased by 9.57%.In addition,the overwork persistence of migrant workers is also affected by the type of occupation,ownership of the house and loans.In order to alleviate the overwork of migrant workers,reduce the intensity of overwork,and reduce the persistence of overwork.In the market,the government should pay attention to the wage income of migrant workers to ensure the implementation of the minimum wage policy.In terms of migrant workers,the government should pay attention to the basic education in rural areas,strengthen the quality training of migrant workers.In the enterprise,the government should make daily inspection,and urge enterprises to sign labor contracts with employees as soon as possible,improve the employer knowing the law degree,provide the basic guarantee for the employment of migrant workers.
