A Study On The Social Status Of Contemporary Rural Migrant Workers' And Relevant Counterplan

The topic of rural migrant workers has always been a key government issue.As time goes by,traditional rural migrant workers have gradually fade away from the job market,with a new generation rural migrant workers coming to be the major force in the troop.On the one hand,they are eager to be a part of the city and gain relevant rights.On the other hand,their present social integration are not satisfying enough.There is still a sharp contrast between the city residents' life and rural migrant workers' life in terms of economic status,social life and system,recreational activities,of which systematic factor is the major reason.Through the investigation and analysis about the present situation of rural migrant workers,the author summarized the problems that exist in the social integration,and discussed the reason.It is concluded that institutional factors are the main reason for the rural migrant workers in social integration.Systematic barrier is embodied in the relevant systems and policies,for example,the household registration system,the labor force employment market system,the security system of labor rights and interests.Meanwhile,the non-systematic factors also contribute to the "contrast".Comparatively speaking,non-systematic factors include two aspects-individual features and social and cultural psychological factors.By individual features,it refers to gender,age,race,skin color,origin,health condition,habits,educational background,personality and competence and so on.Social and cultural psychological factors include cultural customs,social atmosphere,public opinion and latest trends and so on.This article is based on Enzegeer's four dimension model,which starts from economy,social life,system,culture recreation.It researches on the social status of contemporary migrant workers in Hefei,from which it also get a conclusion about the present problems.It analyzed the systematic and non-systematic factors of the difficulties on their way to be a part of the city and thus put forward some relevant stategies.How to promote the social status of rural migrant workers in cities and help them achieve relevant rights is a vital issue both for government departments and the academic circles,which is closely linked with the urbanization in China as well as the construction of a harmonious society.It is a long way to go,the future still need us to continue in-depth study and exploration.
