Residential Segregation And Social Integration Of Migrant Industry Worker In City

Since the reform and openning-up,with the first batch of migrant workers entering the city to work,the tide of civil work is gradually forming.China's attitude towards migrant workers also experienced the change process the loosens limits to encourage,from restrictions on migrant workers to cities to work to encourage migrant workers in cities now.With the rapid development of China's economy,the number of migrant workers has increased rapidly,a large number of industrial workers are carrying the dream of the urban life,travel from rural to big cities or small cities.But they are faced of social inclusion differences.Living space and living style are the premise of the urban migrant workers in the city,the difference of urban migrant workers' living space will inevitably affect their contact with urban residents,and affects their recognition of urban life;Economic condition is the important safeguard that urban migrant worker bases on city,it is an important source of accumulation of living capital of urban migrant workers,it is related to the economic status and social of urban migrant workers;identity and residence intention are the result of social integration of urban migrant workers.This paper is based on social integration perspective,through questionnaire survey and some interviews of 800 urban migrant workers and 400 urban residents in Shijiazhuang and Nanjing,to study and compare the foreign industrial workers' resides mode,living style,identity and desire of settling in cities,analysis the general mechanism of social integration of urban migrant workers.We found that the social integration of foreign industrial workers in Shijiazhuang is at the dual community level and Nanjing is higher than Shijiazhuang.Through the comparison of the social integration degree of the two cities,submits corresponding improvement suggestion: small cities are guided by the concept of city integration,draw lessons from big city industry development layout idea,promote the blending of foreign industrial workers with local residents or to accelerate the construction of industrial parks,make it move towards the new city,in this way,the social integration process of urban migrant workers is accelerated;promote the transfer of traditional manufacturing and labor-intensive industries to small cities,generate more job opportunities,and vigorously promote the social integration of migrant workers in small cities.
