Study On The Relationship Between Urbanization And Economic Growth In Hubei Province

At present, with the development of China's economy will be at the bottom of the L type for a long time, China has proposed to optimize the internal industrial structure through the supply side reform. As the carrier of the development of the industry, the town must speed up its construction and improvement to meet the needs of economic development. At the same time, with the new concept of urbanization, acceleratting the development of China's urbanization process, the establishment of saving and intensive,industrial optimization, ecological livable new town has become the guiding requirements for the development of urbanization in china. In the 2017 government work report, Premier Li Keqiang proposed to speed up the progress of the full coverage of the residence permit system, and to achieve the goal of more than 13 million of the city settled.Although the development of urbanization in our country is late, but after the reform and opening up in 1978, with the rapid economic growth, urbanization process is further accelerated. At present, China has entered the well-off society, the construction of urbanization will continue to improve and expand further,making China's economic construction achievements into the construction of urbanization, to allow more people to enjoy the towns urbanization on the improvement of life quality, which is China's socialist economic construction to achieve the goal.Hubei province is located in the central region of China, is a crucial strategic layout of China's develpopment strategy in the Midwest, connecting the eastern and western regions hub, acceleratting the improvement of the construction of cities and towns in Hubei Province, constantly optimizing the industrial structure, is an important strategic deployment. From the current development situation, although the level of urbanization in Hubei province is higher than the national average, but compared with the eastern region of China, as well as the rate of urbanization in developed countries is still in a backward stage. At the same time, due to the early development of urbanization is too extensive, although the scale of expansion has improved, but also appear a number of"urban disease". In the development of new urbanization, Hubei province should not only continue to improve the level of urbanization, but also from the perspective of fine development, doing a good job of urban construction of internal optimization.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part introduces the research background, research significance, research ideas and methods etc.The second part is the literature review part. By consulting the literature, we can get the results of the research on the relationship between urbanization and economic development. This chapter is divided into two parts, the first is to study the literature on urbanization, to understand the origin, development and achievements of urbanization;The second part is to study the literature about the relationship between economic development and urbanization construction, hoping to provide the direction for the research by studying the research results of other scholars.The third part is about the theory of urbanization and economic growth, hoping that through the guidance of these theories to improve the content of this study.The fourth part is to make a comprehensive summary of the achievements and problems in the process of urbanization in Hubei province.The fifth part is an empirical study on the development process of urbanization and economic growth in Hubei province. In this paper, the per capita GDP index as a measure of economic development indicators, the proportion of urban population to the total population as the performance of the level of urbanization. Therefore, by using stationarity test, co integration test and Grainger causality test, the empirical study of Hubei province in 1990 -2015 per capita GDP index and urban population accounted for the proportion of the total population is analyzed. The result shows that, the economic growth of Hubei province can significantly promote the development of urbanization, but the urbanization development to improve the economic level in a short period of time had no significant effect, must be put in a long period, in order to show this effect.In the sixth chapter, the paper first summarizes the results of empirical research.Then, according to the empirical results, this paper suggests that the government should solve the problems in the development of urbanization and economic construction from the four aspects, such as increasing investment in cities and towns, improving infrastructure construction, accelerating economic growth, promoting the development of urbanization, enhancing the ability to innovate, building smart city, deepen institutional reform, promotting institutional innovation. So the process of urbanization and economic development could be in a balanced state of continuous development.
