With the development of smart phones and mobile Internet technology,WeChat has become an important social medium.People can maintain and expand social network through We Chat.With the development of the media technology,as a multimedia,WeChat is also starting to have economic functions as WeChat Payment and WeChat Lucky Money.But in the process of use,WeChat Lucky Money is not a simple economic tool,and the money in the red envelope is not only with the meaning of economic exchange,it gives more meaning by the users.This study was conducted by using the interview method and the participation observation method to conduct field research on the use of WeChat Lucky Money.Based on Zelizer's theory of the "Multiple Monies",focusing on the use situation and the social meaning of money which was u s e r p r o d u c e d u n d e r t h e i m p a c t o f I n t e r n e t t e c h n o l o g y m e d i a.The body of the article includes three chapters: first of all,according to the user's intent,classifying the use situation of WeChat Lucky Money,defining and analyzing its essence and significance.Coming out with four We Chat Lucky Money types,respectively are blessing red envelopes,entertainment red envelopes,encouraging red envelopes and feeding back red envelopes.Secondly,dividing the user into sender and recipient,it is thought that We Chat Lucky Money was sent to maintain affection,friendship,love and other emotions,and to maintain the human condition.For those who received the red envelopes,they paid more attention to the luck in the red packets.And on the basis of traditional culture,different monetary meanings are understood according to the specific situation of WeChat Lucky Money.Finally,to explore the red envelope's changes which caused by the Internet media,comparing the WeChat Lucky Money with the traditional red envelopes,and finding out how do information media influence people's attitudes and practices on the red envelope and monetary.
