European High-tech SMEs Are Developing Their Status Quo And Opportunities

After the financial crisis in 2008,the world economic order has changed.China has become the new engine of the world economy with its high economic development speed and great development potential.The European sovereign debt crisis followed makes the European economic slump continue;in this case,more and more European companies turn to China,attracted by its huge domestic market potential,sufficient funds guaranteed by high savings rate and industry demand for foreign technologies.In the upsurge of European investment in China,the main force has changed from the traditional large enterprises to SMEs,and “to the West” has become a new feature.Due to that the economic development in Guizhou lags behind,with low degree of openness,European enterprises make few investments in Guizhou,let alone hi-tech industry.Currently,there are only a few literature analyzing the present situation about FDI in Guizhou.In light of few sample data of European enterprises investing in Guizhou and no relevant researches,the topic may make up the shortage in theory and practice research.This article takes three European SMEs,namely,Swiss Schaer Medical Group(medium-sized,successful),German D Environment-friendly Technology Company(small-sized,successful)and Swiss L Automotive Parts R&D Company(mini,failed).Through process tracking,depth interview,data sorting and comparative study,etc.,the writer went deep to analyze the motive,process and development strategy for these enterprises to enter Guizhou market,and believes that market,industry,government and organization are the four key factors that influence European enterprises to enter Guizhou market,besides core technology;meanwhile,the future market as well as current situation and policies of hi-tech industry in Guizhou provide opportunity for European enterprises to enter Guizhou market.As Guizhou is increasingly opening up to the outside world for its economy,it is expected that more and more European hi-tech SMEs will enter Guizhou market.The article provides valuable advice to European hi-tech SMEs through above mentioned case study and analysis,helping them to enter the Guizhou market quickly and efficiently.
