Research On Iron Capacity Cooperation Among China And "One Belt,One Road" Countries

Chinese iron industry is in a critical period of transformation and upgrading,and to carry out and strengthen the iron capacity cooperation with "One Belt,One Road" countries turns to be an important way for China to take full advantage of international market,and to grasp the current development opportunities.Based on the existing theoretical researches and the practicals of Chinese iron industry,and refer to the?Chinese Iron Industry Yearbook?,Chinese iron industry is featured in such ways:enjoying huge overall scale,whether the annual output of crude steel,or the net exports ranks first in the world;structural imbalance exists in iron products,high-tech and high value-added steel products like hot rolled sheet and cold rolled narrow steel strip are in short supply,however,the low-end steel products are faced with seriously exceeding supply;the regional distribution is unbalanced and its concentration ratio is relatively low,resulting into weak competitiveness.The majority of "One Belt,One Road" countries have always been Chinese important parteners in iron trade,and have relatively high degree of complementarity with China."One Belt,One Road" countries are not only Chinese important iron parteners in international market at the present,but store great potential cooperation space in the future.Most "One Belt,One Road" countries are faced with the mission of industrialization,obtaining clear future development plan and strong domestic infrastructure construction demand,which will eventually stimulate the demand of iron products,however,most "One Belt,One Road" countries have limited ability to realize their development plans by themselves,therefore,there is broad development space existing among China and "One Belt,One Road" countries in iron capacity cooperation.The economic environment,infrastructure construction,institution situations,labor cost and geographical distance are five main influence factors,which affect the iron capacity cooperation among China and "One Belt,One Road" countries,this eassay tested their impact effect on the basis of the expanded trade gravity model,and the results show that factors of economic environment and infrastructure construction are the most important affecting ones,however,the costs caused by "One Belt,One Road" countries' domestic institutional environment,labor force and distance don't lead to the according decrease of iron capacity cooperation.Based on the above research,it is suggested that Chinese government and enterprises should take "One Belt,One Road" countries' economic development situation and their domestic demand for infrastructure construction into special consideration,but pay little attention to their distance costs,labor costs and institutional factors,in order to promote the iron capacity cooperation among China and "One Belt,One Road" countries to proceed smoothly.
