Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway line is one of the few profitable high-speed rail lines in China.While,the problems of its current fare system limit the further improvement of revenue.Based on the perspective of transport quantity influenced by passenger travel period choice,this paper focused on the analysis of differential pricing strategy in different periods for Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail line in the hope of providing suggestions on implementation of time-based differentiated pricing strategy for railway company.Under the market mechanism,the change of demand will cause the fluctuation of the price.In contrast,the price adjustment will also cause the demand to change accordingly.Firstly,this paper analyzed the influence path of passenger travel period choice on fare,and summarized the key factors of the passenger travel period choice and travel mode choice,then set up the theory framework of time-based differentiated pricing strategy.This paper summarized the concrete form of civil and foreign HSR/railway for the implementation of time-based differentiated pricing strategy,which provided ideas for considering the influence of travel period from different time dimension,at the same time,provided experience for the implementation of time-based differentiated pricing strategy in Beijing-Shanghai section high-speed railway line.Then,the analysis of transport products and transportation demand for Beijing-Shanghai railway determine the major competitive modes in passenger transport market.This paper concluded the two major problems in the current fare system of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway based on comparative analysis.And draw a conclusion on the travel period features of passengers for different travel purpose with the analysis of the 500 questionnaires' data.On the basis of the framework constructed for time-based differential pricing,this paper built the latent class choice model as the main body of the sharing rate model,and then verified the effectiveness of the model by using 100 questionnaires' data.The results showed that the latent class choice model can predict the distribution rate of passenger flows reasonably.After that,this paper constructed the differential pricing model,which considered the total passenger volume,high-speed rail passenger sharing rate and fare,and then obtained the fare level of two kinds of high speed railway for different travel period from different time dimensions.By concluding the relevant experience and empirical research results,this paper put forward the following suggestions:railway company should consider the comprehensive impact of passenger travel period choice,speed and comfort to set differential pricing strategy in different period for two kinds of high speed railway,which benefit the improvement the company's overall revenue;when implement the time-based differential pricing strategy,the cross effects of different time dimension should be taken into consideration,and then form the multi-level differential pricing system,the fare of the large time dimension is the standard for pricing adjustment of the smaller dimension.The degree of price differentiation is related to the range and distance,and the further distance,the less differentiation degree;It is necessary to adjust the upper and lower limit of the price fluctuation of the peak and the non-peak price according to the period of the implementation of the differential pricing strategy.By combining the travel time differentiation pricing strategy with other fare strategies,it can enrich the current fare system.
