Study On Sustainable Development Evaluation Of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Urban Agglomeration

As the urban agglomeration is becoming a new geographical unit which participating in the global competition,China pays more and more attention to the regional sustainable development.Urban agglomeration is the most dynamic and potential core areas in China economic development pattern of future.At the same time,a series of ecological problems are gradually emerging,and it is urgent to pay more attention to the protection of resources and environment with the development of economic.Nowadays,with the rapid promotion of economic development and urban modernization level,to keep the long-term competitiveness of urban agglomeration,it is necessary to carry out the sustainable development.This dissertation regards Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,which is the third pole of Chinese economic growth,as the research object and analyzes the current development status of this region.To evaluate the capacity of urban sustainable development,it divides the urban agglomeration into three sub-systems: economy,society and environment,and builds an index system.With the entire-array-polygon comprehensive graphic method,it measures the capacity of sustainable development of the regional subsystems,and evaluates the comprehensive index of the region,so as to provide effective suggestions that can improve the imbalance between the potential and the actual effect of the regional sustainable development.The results show that the most important factor that restricts the promotion of the regional sustainable development capacity is the serious imbalance among each subsystem.According to the ranking results,the cities of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei with relatively high comprehensive ability of urban sustainable development have relatively balanced development of their subsystems,and the sustainable development level of their subsystems is ranked in the upstream position of the urban agglomerations.However,cities with the highest rankings in different subsystems,because of the unbalanced development of economy,society and environment,their comprehensive ability of sustainable development declined.Through the evaluation of the sustainable development level of each subsystem in the dissertation,we can get the short board that restricts the sustainable development of each city;if it can enhance the shortcomings that hinder the sustainable development of cities and improve the linkage development degree of the urban agglomeration,so will be greatly enhance the sustainable development of the city level.And the comprehensive competitiveness of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei will be on a new step.
