In the context of global competition,increasing national competitiveness is a key area of development of the Russian economy.Russia's entry into the world trade organization(WTO)in 2012 sharply increased the level of requirements for national competitiveness,and sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union have again exacerbated the dependence of many sectors of the Russian economy on imports of equipment and technology.Since 2015,the Russian economy has faced the need for 5-7 years to make a breakthrough in improving national competitiveness,which previously would have taken many years.The oil and gas sector is the main competitive advantage of the Russian economy,therefore,its strengthening will entail an increase in national competitiveness as a whole.In the first part of the thesis was the definition of "competitiveness of the company."The paper presents an overview of approaches to assessing the competitiveness of the company,describes them,highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each approach,on the basis of which General conclusions are outlined,explaining the limitations of the practical application of most of them.In the second part the historical and economic analysis of the world oil market and its development stages is carried out,key events and price changes caused by them are designated.In the third part,on the example of SWOT analysis of LUKOIL,were identified strengths and weaknesses of oil companies,helping LUKOIL clear direction for future adjustments according to the changing economic situation.In the fourth part,based on the analysis results of the third part,we elaborated the strategy for improving Lukoil's international competitiveness from the main directions,development strategies and specific approaches.
