Research On Analysis Of Transit Travel Demand Characteristics And Design Of Transit Network In Small And Medium-sized Cities

High quality bus service can effectively promote the transfer of residents' travel mode from individual mobile vehicles to slow and public transport.However,there are many problems in the current public transport system in small and medium-sized cities,such as the lack of planning for the transit network setting,and the transit service can not adapt to the travel demands of urban residents.Therefore,for small and medium-sized cities it is necessary to study the characteristics of the travel demand,and the design method of the transit network.First of all,based on the survey results of resident trips,the appropriate indicators were selected to analyze the characteristics of the personal attributes of the transit passengers in small and medium-sized cities,as well as the differences in the trip characteristics between the two types of bus and non bus trips.Besides,the annual changes in the macro factors such as land use,economy and population in small and medium-sized cities were studied to evaluate the impact of these factors on travel demand characteristics.Secondly,the general situation of the development of the current public transport in small and medium-sized cities was summarized from two aspects of infrastructures and service characteristics.In combination with the characteristics of the residents' travel demand,the development dilemma of public transport was dissected.And the reasonable position of public transport development was defined: attention should be paid to enhancing the accessibility of transit,and the travel needs of the elderly need to be preferred,passenger corridor travel needs should be guaranteed.Besides,it is necessary to give full play to social service function of public transport covering urban public facilities and guiding function of guiding urban traffic structure to green traffic.In this study,by the actual situation of transit system in small and medium-sized cities,it took minimize the passengers' discomfort index as the objective function,and took vehicle scale,route length,departure interval,transfer times,and the amount of unsatisfied passenger as constrains to establish transit network design model for small and medium-sized cities.Based on the previous research results,two methods of genetic algorithm improved by simulated annealing algorithm and exhaustion method were used to solve the model.Finally,based on the research findings of residents' trip demand characteristics and the design method of public transit network,the case study of Deqing County,Zhejiang Province was carried out.
