Research On The Interaction Relationship Between The International Competitiveness Of Ports In Bohai Rim And The Hinterland Economy

With the continuous development of China’s economic construction,the port,as a gateway to open to the outside world and a junction of maritime trade,has an irreplaceable role in the rapidly increasing global trade volume.The port’s openness means that it can have a huge leading effect on the surrounding economy.The improvement of the port’s strength will promote the development of the hinterland economy.At the same time,the good situation in the hinterland will support the change of the port’s strength and is a solid backing for the port’s strength.The Bohai Rim region has many international large ports and natural good ports,and is an important distribution and gathering place for goods in China.In the process of turning the port into an international shipping center,by studying the international competitiveness of the port and the economic relationship in the hinterland,it can be clear whether there is a long-term stable and benign interactive relationship between the two,which will enhance the comprehensive strength of the port in the Bohai Rim and the hinterland.Economic development is of great significance.This paper combines the development of the ports and hinterland economies in the Bohai Rim region,clarifies the mechanism of the port’s international competitiveness and the hinterland economy,and qualitatively analyzes the development of the ports and hinterland economies at various stages,and also provides a basis for quantitative research.The specific idea is that this article introduces the port’s international competitiveness to describe the port’s comprehensive strength level,selects indicators that meet the evaluation principles to construct an evaluation system,and uses the entropy-based TOPSIS method(Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution)for operations that are closely related to port development.A total of 14 indicators were evaluated in four aspects:capacity,operating capacity,development potential,and international participation,and the evaluation results of the ports in the Bohai Rim region from 2000 to 2017 were obtained.The panel data model was used to study relationship the international competitiveness of the port and the hinterland economy,to verify whether the economic development of the hinterland has an impact on the comprehensive strength of the port and whether the strong strength of the port can help the economic development of the hinterland.Finally,the analysis of the results found that the total amount of hinterland economy and the development of export trade has played a positive role in promoting the international competitiveness of the port,and the improvement of the international competitiveness of the port can also promote the development of the hinterland economy.Therefore,the relationship between the international competitiveness of the port and the hinterland economy is indeed closely related and interdependent.Relying on,there is consistency in the development direction of the two.Finally,combined with the empirical results,we will promote the improvement of the comprehensive strength of the port in the future from the aspects of port integration and port function upgrade,and promote the development of the hinterland regional economy,and give suggestions for achieving the goal of long-term benign interaction between the international competitiveness of the port and the hinterland economy.
