Research On The Evolution Of The Central Stadium In The Republic Of China From The Perspective Of Cultural Heritage Protection

The Nanjing Central Stadium complex is the research object of this paper.The stadium is an important existing Republican architecture in Nanjing.In the nearly one hundred years since the stadium was built to today,there have been three major changes in its attributes,namely from sports building to college facilities,and then was awarded the architectural cultural heritage.The first part of this paper combs and introduces the current research status of the Central Stadium so far.Its content is mainly divided into the research of Nanjing modern history,the research of the architecture of the Republic of China and the research of the development of modern Chinese sports.The second part describes the origin of the construction of the Central Stadium based on historical data.It was built for the Fifth National Games during the Republic of China and contains the advanced design concept of the architect Yang Tingbao.After an accurate description of its built structure,its value as an architectural heritage was evaluated and compared with other sports buildings in the Republic of China.The third part focuses on the analysis of the transformation process of the status and function of its stadiums-colleges and universities-cultural heritage in chronological order.The content includes the impact of its core pattern scene and its use in various periods on the stadium.The fourth part takes the recent specific reconstruction and repair of four venues as cases,based on the relevant venue project request and preparation report obtained by the author,combined with the author's field visits and investigations,and analyzes the occurrence of related architectural heritage in the process of utilization,transformation and protection problems and lessons to be learned from them.This paper hopes to conduct a new study on the Central Stadium from the perspective of cultural heritage protection based on previous research results.lt not only tries to analyze the development of the heritage protection ideas of the Central Stadium,but also hopes to use this existing research as a basis to carry out more extensive and deeper theoretical and practical explorations in China.
