| The construction industry in China accounts for a large proportion in the economy and thus has played a crucial role in social and economic development.In the recent years,as China-proposed “new normal of economic development”,the problems in the construction industry have gradually emerged with China’s economic reform: the industry lacks a mature market-oriented system,the execution of regulations and laws hasn’t achieved expected results,neither manufacturing skills nor equipment is advanced enough,the technological innovation capa bilities are weak and the extensive mode of production has led to severe pollution and a waste of resources.On top of these problems,the structure changes of labor forces and the shifts of technologies in the traditional construction industry are putting most construction enterprises under greater pressure.In order to survive for a longer time and achieve sustainable development,lots of companies are looking for new ways out and it is imperative to study corporate transitional development strategies.This article is divided into four parts and aims at illustrating how China Construction Third Bureau Urban Construction Company formulate its transitional development strategies.The first part introduces some background information about China Construction Third Bureau Urban Construction Company,makes a general analysis about the construction industry,illustrates the problems in the transitional development of the company and analyzes why these problems occur based on the status quo of the industry and the experience from both home and abroad.The second part uses PEST to analyze from the political,economic,social and technological environment and draws a detailed conclusion about the external environment the company is facing.Then analyze the company’s industry environment in combination with the actual situationBased on corporate structure,business capabilities and corporate culture,this part analyzes the internal environment of the company and leverages SWOT analysis to clarify the strength,weaknesses,opportunities and threats of the company and builds a SWOT analysis matrix,laying the foundation for choosing the right transformation development strategy.Based on the above analysis,the third part sets the goals of the transitional development strategies of the company from market environment,operation philosophy and talent development,propose strategic options for vertical integration and diversified developmentand analyzes in detail how to carry out the strategy and the corresponding safeguard measures.The last part draws crucial conclusions including that the transitional development of the company should keep in line with the economic development trends and national policies,shifting production structure from infrastructure,fabricated construction and BIM is feasible,the corporate cost control should be enhanced and the quality of corporate service should be guaranteed. |
