Establishment On HACCP Quality Control System Of Muskmelons In Guanzhou County Of Gansu Province

Guzhou County,located in Gansu Province,is one of the main producing areas of high quality muskmelon fruit in China.Multiple cultivars of Honey dew melon and cantaloupe are planted in Guanzhou County,which are popular muskmelon fruits for consumers due to the high quality of fruits.In this study,based on early comprehensive investigation of planting solid,water quality,production process and quality of muskmelon fruit in Guzhou County,we used principle of HACCP to analyze potential risks and hazards of fruit quality and safety during every link of muskmelon fruit industry chain.Moreover,we also established HACCP quality management system of fruit quality control.1.The early investigation showed little effective monitoring for planting solid,irrigation water and other growing conditions during planting process of muskmelon in Guazhou County.The phenomenon of illegal use chemical fertilizers was very common and individual farmer still used forbidden fertilizers during planting.Moreover,lack of uniform standards of fruit maturity at harvest,the process of grading and packing was extensive,and uniform condition of transportation and storage.All these reasons lead to different quality of fruit and cause huge loss of fruit after harvest.2.The results of hazard analyze showed that 10 parts of muskmelon industry,including planting sates conditions,sources of cultivars and seeds,field management,fruit maturity at harvest,grading rules,packaging system,pre-cooling method,storeroom sterilization,storage condition and transportation environment,had threatening risks of muskmelon quality and safety.Based on hazard analyze,we found 7 critical control points,which are planting sates conditions,sources of cultivars and seeds,fertilizer using,pesticide,classification management after harvest,pre-cooling and storage management.3.We determined limits of every critical control point,basis for judgment,monitoring method,monitoring frequency and corrective action.Moreover,we built HACCP system of fruit quality and safety control of muskmelon industry chain.After validation of a production storage transportation period,we confirmed that the HACCP system effectively guaranteed the muskmelon quality and safety in Guzhou county.The HACCP system of control muskmelon quality and safety in Guazhou County are easy to practice.It not only plays important role in controlling muskmelon fruit quality and safety in Guazhou County,but also has general applicability for controlling muskmelon quality produced from other areas.
