Yucao No.6 is one of the new forage maize varieties selected in recent years.At present,there are only a few studies on its nutritional value.In order to realize the large-scale production and full utilization of the new varieties,a production performance test of Yucao No.6 and Yucao No.1 was carried out in three districts,and three different planting densities were established: low density(L,8333 plants per hectare),medium density(M,10 000 plants per hectare),and high density(H,12500 plants per hectare).And two different expansion methods were established:culm cutting propagation and stump propagation.The fresh dry matter yield,stem / leaf ratio of Yucao No.6 were observed and measured in the first two years.The coefficient of propagation of two types of propagation was determined and the nutrient content and yield of Yucao No.6 under different densities and different propagation methods in the first year was measured too.The main results were as follows:1.In the three experimental sites,the fresh and dry grass yield of Yucao No.6 was higher than that of Yucao No.1,and the differences between varieties were significant or extremely significant.The cold resistance of Yucao No.6 is better than that of Yucao No.1and it has a longer growth period.It is a good perennial forage that is worth planting in production.2.In density test,the tiller number and basal circumference of Yucao No.6 were significantly affected by planting density and year,but there was no interaction.In the second year,the number of tillers at different densities increased significantly,and the basal circumference increased significantly between years.The plant height of Yucao No.6increased with the increase of density,but there was no significant difference between density and two years,the grass length of the first year of high density was significantly longer than that of medium density and low density of 19.58 cm and 29.19 cm,and that of the second year of high density was 35.33 cm longer than that of low density.,but there was no significant difference between years.The diameter of the main stem in the first year and the second year of the plant was also significant between the years.The differences were reduced by 8-10 mm,but there was no significant difference between densities.3.In different years,the effect of planting density on yield characters of Yucao No.6was different.In the first year after planting,the fresh and dry weight of Yucao No.6increased significantly with the increase of planting density,and the ratio of stem to leaf decreased with the increase of density.There was no significant difference in density among three yield characters in the second year of planting.In the interannual comparison,the dry weight of low density and medium density increased significantly compared with the first year,but only the high density stem and leaf ratio increased significantly in the first year,but the yield was not different from that of the first year.The results show that the planting density and the year have interaction on the yield characters of Yucao No.6,and with the increase of planting year,the density of Yucao No.6 is increased.The effect on yield characters decreased gradually,so that there was no significant difference between low density and high density yield traits.Planting density had no significant effect on the forage component content of Yucao No.6.4.There was no significant difference in the agronomic characters between the two types of propagation,but in the second year of planting,all agronomic characters were significantly different from those in the first year,and the number of tillers and the girth of base increased significantly.The diameter of the main stem decreased significantly.The basal circumference of Yucao No.6 was significantly increased by 91.04%,and the basal circumference of Yucao No.6 was significantly increased by 92.13%.In the second year,the plant length of Yucao No.6 was significantly increased by 46.27% and 44.30%,and the plant height significantly increased by 75.39% and 71.13%.5.In the first year and the second year of planting,there was no significant difference between the yield characters of Yucao No.6,but the year had a significant effect on fresh grass weight and hay weight.The yield of fresh grass increased by 79.80% and 77.33%,respectively,and the yield of hay weight increased by 80.89% and 73.59%,respectively.The ratio of stem to leaf in two years after planting increased by 79.80% and 77.33%,respectively.There is no significant difference between two years,but there is a certain degree of reduction.There was no significant difference in nutrient content and yield of Yucao No.6 plant under different propagation methods,but the propagation mode of cutting propagation had higher propagation coefficient,which indicated that the expanded propagation of Yucao No.6 was carried out by culm cuttage expansion and propagation.Itcan achieve the same agronomic characters,final biological yield and fodder quality as the method of stump propagation,which is beneficial to the large-scale production of Yucao No.6.
