A Report On Simulated English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpreting Of Iphone7/plus Conference

This interpreting practice report is based on the author's simulated simultaneous interpreting of “Apple's event to announce iPhone7/plus”,which focuses on the English-Chinese interpreting.Apple Inc.held their Autumn Launch Event on September8,2016,and they introduced many new products,including Apple Watch 2,WatchOS 3,Iphone7/plus and AirPods on this launch event.“IPhone” is regarded as the most representative Apple product of Apple Inc.,because it holds the largest number of users among Apple products.So the author of this interpreting practice report selects some parts which are related to the introduction of“iPhone7/plus” from the original presentation on the Autumn Launch Event to simulate the simultaneous interpreting.The author follows the guidance of “Skopos Theory” in analyzing her simulated simultaneous interpreting of the “Apple's event to announce iPhone7/plus”.This interpreting practice report consists of five parts.The first part is the task description which mainly introduces the background,requirements and the information related to the original text.The second part is the description of the interpreting process,including the preparatory work and the detailed interpreting process.The third part involves the theoretical framework,mainly introducing the fundamental principles of“Skopos Theory” and the related interpreting strategies.The fourth part involves case study and the application of “Skopos Theory” at lexical level,syntactical level and textual level with specific interpreting strategies included.The fifth part is the conclusion that summarizes the experiences and the shortcomings from the interpreting practice as well as the guiding functions of the “Skopos Theory” to this interpreting practice.
