Now that fast growing globalization increases a great need of translation, especially the translation of technical and practical texts,home-made translation is gradually showing its disadvantages in handling a mass and varieties of translation work.Meanwhile computer aided translation has proved itself a great help in compensating the disadvantages of home-made translation.First,it helps to improve the efficiency of translation;and second,it helps to unify the terminologies of the whole text.Taking the above into consideration, the author decides to use Trados---a software of computer aided translation to translate the Second Chapter of Part One of Consumer Rights Act 2015 by applying its Termbase and Memory Bank, and expects to find out how both Termbase and Memory Bank work and how they will be helpful in improving the translation efficiency of the translator. As is known that the legal document has its own terminology and may repeat its content in a necessary way,the author will first have to extract the terminology before the actual translation work begins, and then attempt to manage the Memory Bank during translating. In the end,it is expected that both Termbase and Memory Bank will work together to contribute the completeness of this project.
