The paper, taking the Institut Culinaire Disciples Escoffier(ICDE)recipe translation project participated by the author during the practice internship as an example, discusses the problems on the level of language rendering and CAT technology encountered in the project, their causes and solutions. This paper employs the strategy of localization and parallel texts, and takes advantage of CAT tools while offsetting CAT weaknesses to improve the quality and efficiency of modern translation projects. This paper consists of four chapters and two appendixes which include specific contents of this project.Chapter one introduces the project overview including the source of this project, project description and the purposes and significance of the project.Chapter two presents the problems encountered in the process of translation, including unreadability brought by literal translation, difficulties in rendering dish names, numerous repetitive work and three problems about translation memory.Chapter three puts forward the corresponding solutions, including the strategy of localized translation and parallel texts, and the building and maintenance of the termbase and translation memory.Chapter four summarizes the whole paper while pointing out limits and suggestions. The appendixes include the original and translated versions of the project,as well as the termbase established before the translation, which can offer reference for subsequent similar projects.
