It's significant for recipient countries and China to carry out foreign-aid training.It is found out that big workloads of foreign-aid training and tremendous translation tasks of translators result in a lax attitude towards translation quality of foreign-aid training materials which needs to be improved.The source text of this thesis is a business text,which is selected from the author's translation practice during working for foreign-aid training translation.Combining the definition of business translation with the content of the source text,this thesis defines translation of the source text as business translation.With the point-cut that business text belong to informative text,Peter Newmark's theory on communicative translation is employed to guide the translation practice.Through the study,it is found out that lexically,it is difficult to translate economic terms and legal terms.To render a more accurate translation,ideas on target receptor-oriented and ideal communication effect is needed.When economic terms are translated,ready made as well as brand-new translation is required to ensure communication effects through multi-channel searching and repeated verifying.When legal terms from names of rules and regulations are translated,relevant parallel texts are taken as references.Syntactically,long and difficult sentences or sentences without subjects are difficult to be translated.To translate them properly,principles of communicative translation should be kept,which adopts such translation techniques as division,information restructuring,subject addition,voice conversion to realize communication with authentic and smooth translated version.Textually,clarification on logic relation is required.Accurate deletion of redundant information helps the author obtain a pithy version which will be closer to receptors' expectation.In the meantime,an accurate addition of relevant information creates a more clear version.In specific translation practice,principles of communicative translation are applied as the guidance for business translation.Translators should not be limited by the form of source text,pay attention to the logic of translation,and then make their version more idiomatic in the target language.It is hoped that these findings can help other translators when translating business texts,especially those working on foreign-aid training.
