The report is based on the author's translation practice in a sports company.Inspired by the existing theories and practical experience provided by our predecessors, the author proceeds to analyze the material that the author translated for the Chinese football coach training courses from the perspective of the Skopos Theory.Difficulties and problems were particularly taken as examples in the author's discussion. It is found that, for a sports-related text,it is imperative for a translator or an interpreter to proceed from the target reader/listener's standpoint, and it is justifiable to give up the original language style to a certain extent and find a simpler expression for some complicated meaning, which in fact are easier approaches to achieving the expected objectives of a translation task.Working as a special personal translator in this sports company, the author's task is to translate all the materials for the Chinese coach training courses and then put them into use in lecture interpreting.Later the translated texts would be sent to the mailboxes of all the coaches after careful revision. This special experience of working both as a translator and an interpreter actually offered the author a good opportunity to experience the whole process of "translation-modification-feedback-revision".In view of this, the author believes that this practice report may be endowed with special significance as far as translation research is concerned.
