A Report On Interpreting For Israeli ICT Roadshow To China In Jinan

This report is based on the author's interpreting experience in the Israeli ICT Roadshow to China on December 21st,2016.In this project,the author acted as the interpreter for Israeli telecommunication company Saguna in business negotiation section and successfully completed her work of interpreting for Saguna's representative and his negotiators.The guiding theory the author used in this project is eco-translatology proposed by Hu Gengshen.The theory assisted the author in conducting interpreting in a more systematical way.Under the guidance of eco-translatology theory,the author achieved adaptive selection from linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions through adding,omitting and other translating strategies after adapting herself to the translational environment.The guiding function of the theory cannot be denied in the author's satisfying interpreting performance in this project.This activity can be taken as a milestone in the author's interpreting experience,for it revealed both her strengths and weaknesses and provided significant guidance in her later interpreting study and work.What's more,this project is important because it helped the author build up her confidence as an interpreter more than any other project did.It is expected that this report will be helpful to those doing on-the-spot interpreting.
