A Practice Report Of Escort Interpreting Of Commercial Activities

With the deepening of “the Belt and Road Initiative”,Kunming as the regional hub and power house of the new round national strategy,gains a profound opportunity to accelerate its internationalization.Many homegrown enterprises start to realize the necessity and significance of “going abroad”,especially those enterprises which are traditional manufacturing industry related,such as tea industry companies.Therefore,more cross-culture communications require more professional interpreting talents.This report is based on the personal escort interpreting practice for two commercial activities of a homegrown tea industry company in Kunming.By selecting major typical cases to analyse and summarize,this report is composed of four parts.Part one is a description of the interpreting task including the brief introduction and the characteristics analysis of the task.Part two introduces the process of the interpretation with two major aspects,pre-task preparation and emergency response.Part three conducts case studies of the application of the Interpretive Theory and corresponding interpreting tactics.Part four summarizes the interpretation process through self-assessment and major findings.In the end,three main implications are provided for further escort interpreting practice.
