The Study On Pottery Manufacturing Technology Of Zhou Dynasty At Maojiaping Site

Mao Jiaping is an important site to research the Qin culture,and its rich pottery remains provide the data basis for studying the pottery process of Qin culture.The remains of Zhou Dynasty of this site can be divided into Group A and Group B,the former belongs to the Qin culture,the latter belongs to the Xirong culture.This article mainly discusses the fabrication technology of Zhou Dynasty pottery of this site according to the archaeological data,scientific experiments,national data and other aspects,using the methods of observe technical marks of pottery making,X-ray imaging technology,hyper-depth microscope,scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analysis to research the specimen of pottery,so as to restore the technology of making pottery in the Zhou Dynasty of Mao Jia ping Ruins.By using the variation coefficients of pottery caliber and abdomen diameter analyze the standardization of pottery to understand the information about the way of production.Mao Jiaping Ruins of the Zhou Dynasty pottery materials should be taken from the local clay,and screening.Main temper types include quartz,mica,feldspar and so on.In the molding process,The group A primary forming methods is coiling,throwing,pinching and so on,molding method is used in Group B.The second is the important link,including Scraping,turning and Beating.The most of gray pottery were decorated by rope veins and addition veins.The Pottery made from red sandy clay were decorated by rope veins.The gray pottery with temper were likely to be fire in kilns,and others with temper were open fired.In the Mao Jiaping Ruins,the pottery manufacturing techniques has experienced from the coiling to the throwing,but the process develops slowly,until the late Warring States period individual wheel made pottery appeared in Group A.According to the statistical calculation of the variation coefficient of pottery caliber,it is concluded that its standardization degree is higher and has already belonged to the specialized commodity production.According to the study of nature and society at that time,combined with the analysis of pottery process and standardization,we explored the production environment of pottery at that time,and understood that the formation of the two groups of people,although there was armed struggle,but also maintained a long-term exchange of goods contact way.In general,it can be used for reference to study the development of pottery process in Qin culture and learn about the cultural exchang between different nations.
