| With the constant economic development in China, communication of science and technology have become increasingly frequent, and translation activities in this area have also boomed.Based on the current researches on translation of scientific text home and abroad, this paper uses three-dimensional transformation method--the translation method of eco-translatology to analyze the typical problems existing in the book Governance for Drought.Resilience-Land and Water Drought Ma.nagement in Europe(Chapter Ⅵ),and put forward proper countermeasures.Different from the translation strategies put forward by other theories,eco-translatology advocates "adaptation and choice".It does not rigidly adhere to"Domestication and Foreignization" or "Literal Translation and Free Translation".Its a combination of ecology and translatology, and guides translation activity by using the principle of "survival of the fittest" in ecology.Besides,it places emphasis on translators and the whole translational environment, instilling new energy for the translation of scientific English. As an independent discipline, scientific English has its own characteristics and its translation has great meaning in theory study and practical application. At present, the research on English-Chinese translation of scientific text in China is mainly from the perspectives of Constructivism,Skopos Theory,Communicative Translation Theory and so on.Eco-Translatology provides a new research perspective. This thesis analyzes the selected material respectively from linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension, and explores the translation strategies of scientific texts. As for linguistic dimension,it mainly discusses the translation strategies of passive voice and noun structure;Regarding cultural dimension,it mainly discusses the translation strategies of idioms and words with historical and social background; When it comes to communicative dimension,it mainly discusses how to choose from supplement and omission, and literal translation and free translation. It is concluded that English-Chinese translation of scientific texts has its own specific ecological environment.Translators should be equipped with the ability to make multi-dimensional adaptive transformation in linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions in the process of translation. The author hopes to provide translators with ideas that can be used as a reference in actual translation activities by enumerating examples,so as to better improve the quality of translation. |
