The Intervention Of Solution-focused Group Counseling On The Primary Students' Negative Emotions

Objective: Using senior students of three Primary schools in Jiangxi Province as subjects,the research was aimed to explore primary senior students' emotional status and how their emotions affected by different demographic variables.Methods: There were two parts of the research.Firstly,this study adopted questionnaires to investigate 612 senior students' emotional status in Nanchang and Shangrao.Secondly,24 fifth grade students who had high negative scores or greater difference in two emotion were selected.12 students were randomly selected as the experimental group,another 12 known as control group.Then a seven-time Solution-Focused Group Counseling activity was conducted by the experimental group,while the control group did not have any group activities.The results are as follows:(1)The level of fifth grade students' positive emotions is significantly higher than sixth grade,but grade on negative emotions has no significant difference.(2)The level of girls' negative emotions is significantly lower than boys,but gender on positive emotions has no significant difference.(3)The positive emotions of senior students have no significant difference in only-child,but only-child's negative emotions are more than others.(4)The negative emotions of leaders are significantly higher than ordinary students,but they have no significant difference on positive emotions.(5)After Solution-Focused Group Counseling,the positive emotion score of the experimental group was significantly increased,and the negative emotions was significantly reduced.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The positive and negative emotions of senior students in primary schools basically reach a healthy level;(2)Solution-Focused Group Counseling can reduce the level of senior students' negative emotions,which has follow-up effect.(3)The group counseling scheme,which compiled by this research,is effective and is worth popularizing in primary school.
