The philosophy of the mind as Confucianism has a long history.In the Ming Dynasty,it was greatly developed,and the philosophy of Wang Shouren became the peak in the Ming Dynasty.Because of simplicity and ease of use,it welcomed by all social classes at that time.But with the wide spread of that,disadvantages had emerged especially on the performance of Yang ming ‘s students which represented by Taizhou school."Wild" is a product of the popular philosophy,but also caused the dissatisfaction of some scholars.Some scholars tried to change the abuses,represented by Liu Zongzhou.Liu Zongzhou stressed the importance of practice,and put the time of "Shendu" and the ontology of "Shendu" together,in order to avoid Yangming Science focusing on mind rather than nature which led to "crazy zen".Mou Zongsan is one of the most important representatives of modern new Confucianism,through the study of Liu Zongzhou ideological Shendu,divides the Neo-Confucianism into three lines.Although the division of the Neo-Confucianism is innovative,its shortcomings are also obvious.He put Liu Zongzhou and Hu Hong together becoming a department within the system,made Liu Zongzhou's Theory and Wang's Ideology diametrically opposed.He cancelled the statue of Qi Theory in internal position of the Neo-Confucianism,recognized Liu Jishan as orthodox Confucianism inherited from Zhou Dunyi,Zhang Zai and Cheng Hao,and turned to other way for the disadvantages of Wang Ideology.But according to Liu Zongzhou's critical analysis of Yang ming SiJuJiao,we can see that the Jishan was just amender of Wang and did not jump out the frame of Wang,this is actually not tenable.Although,this division is actually unfounded,but this interpretation has its unique significance.Because the main purpose of this interpretation is to construct his own "metaphysics" rather historical interpretation.This way of interpretation is very different from The history of Neo Confucianism in the song and Ming Dynasties,which is edited by Hou Wailu and so on.Hou Wailu and so on is a historical interpretation,while Mou Zongsan is a creative interpretation.In the interpretation,Mou Zongsan tended to interpret Chinese philosophy with the way of western philosophy.But he did not give up the traditional Chinese methods,but also closely integrated Chinese and western research methods.However,the shortcoming of this research method is also very obvious.This study of Chinese philosophy under the context of western philosophy failed to get rid of the way of "explaining the Chinese with the West".Although Mou Zongsan also had "commentary on the West in China" in his research,but he failed to become the mainstream of his research method,which showed the difficulty of Chinese philosophy research method innovation.However,it is undeniable that Mou Zongsan's research has its shortcomings,but it also has its own characteristics.This interpretation is "discuss of old" and "cultivating new knowledge".His research methods and ideas are still of great significance for the today's study of Chinese philosophy.
