| The influence of emotion on implicit memory has been a hot topic in the field of emotion research.Many studies have shown that positive emotions can promote such cognitive activities as attention,memory and cognitive classification,while negative emotions can do the opposite.Gable and Harmon-Jones(2010)proposed the motivational dimensional model of affect,putting forward that,in addition to emotional valence and arousal,there is motivational dimension in emotion.With different intensity,emotion has different influence on cognition.Specifically,emotions of high motivation intensity narrow cognition,emotions of low motivation intensity broaden cognition.Since this theory has been proposed,researchers have studied the different effects of emotional motivation intensity on the attention scope(Gable & Harmon-Jones,2008),analogical reasoning(Du Xuesong,2016)and cognitive control(Liu Ya,2012).However,only few study the relationship between the motivation intensity of emotion and implicit memory.At home and abroad,implicit memory has been measured through the process dissociation procedure(PDP),and the experimental materials are meaningless alphabet.Combined with subject teaching,this study takes English vocabulary as the PDP experimental material,investigating the influence of emotional motivation intensity on implicit memory of junior high school students,and providing resources and reference for English vocabulary teaching of junior middle school.In this sense,this study is practical and valuable.Experiment1 is a mixed design of two factors,examining the effects of positive mood with different emotional motivation intensity implicit memory upon.In the experiment,motivations(high,low,neutral positive emotion motivation)are the variables among groups,the way of presentation of English word meanings are the variables inside the group,and implicit memory and explicit are the dependent variable.The subjects were randomly divided into three groups.One group is the neutral emotion,the other two groups are high and low positive emotions induced by emotional pictures.The three groups finish the corresponding learning materials by mechanical rehearsal memory and meaning processing memory.Based on Experiment1,Experiment2 turns the stimulating pictures into negative pictures,and studies the influence of different motivational intensity of negative emotions on implicit memory.The results of Experiment 1 and experiment 2 show :(1)different English vocabulary memory strategies produce significant differences in implicit memory and explicit memory(2)different motivational intensity of emotions have effects on both implicit memory and explicit memory(3)the positive emotion of high and low motivational intensity promote explicit memory,and the negative emotion of high and low motivational intensity inhibits explicit memory;(4)high motivation intensity of emotion inhibits implicit memory,and low motivation intensity promotes explicit memory. |
