From the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper conducts a comparative study of the up and down position words in Chinese and Indonesian.Through questionnaires and analysis of errors,this paper explores the effects of language cognition differences on Indonesian students' acquisition of Chinese locality words,and finds out Mistakes,seeking teaching strategies.This article is divided into six parts,of which the second,third,and fourth chapters are the main body of the full text.Through language comparison and analysis,we find out the commonness and characteristics of the two language bearing words“up and down”and find out their spatial meaning.The internal relationship between metaphorical meaning and extended meaning analyzes the reasons for the difference in expression.Chapter 6 proposes teaching suggestions for teaching Chinese as a foreign language through language comparison and error analysis.The first chapter,the introduction,summarizes the significance of the topic,the purpose of the study,the content of the research,the research methods,and the existing research results of the academic community;Chapter 2 compares and analyzes the spatial meanings of Chinese "up and down" and the Indonesian "atas" and"bawah",starting with the three aspects of contact relationship,isolation relationship and inclusive relationship and analyzing the two languages.The similarities and differences of "up and down" in the expression of spatial orientation reflect the differences in spatial cognition;The third chapter compares and analyzes the metaphorical meanings of Chinese "up and down" and Indonesian "atas" and"bawah".It compares the metaphorical quantity,social status,quality status,time and sequence.From the perspective of metaphorical meaning,we can see the differences in the cognitive culture of the two languages;Chapter 4 compares and analyzes the extension meanings of Chinese "up and down" and Indonesian "atas" and "bawah",and finds out the similarities and differences between the two languages when expressing other meanings derived from the concept of space.Contrasting with other languages,we can find out more about the characteristics of Chinese.Through some extended meanings in Indonesian but not in Chinese,we can think about why Chinese does not have similar extension meanings,and start from their spatial meaning and intention schemata to find answers;The fifth chapter conducts a questionnaire survey on Indonesian students' grasping the situation of the Chinese position words "up and down",and analyzes the corresponding errors in the HSK corpus to understand the causes and types of errors;Based on the results of language comparison and error analysis,the sixth chapter puts forward some suggestions on the teaching of "up and down" in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language;The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the full text and points out some shortcomings of this article.
