| This is a translation project report.The source text is chapter I to chapter III of Gender Equality and the Labor Market Women,Work,and Migration in the People’s Republic of China,a report published by Asian Development Bank in2017.The first three chapters look beneath the surface of the considerable gains China has achieved,to investigate how women are faring in the transition to the PRC’s new growth model,and what can be done to promote their participation rate.It shows how the People’s Republic of China is undergoing multiple transitions,with complex implications for gender equality and work.Since the source text is excerpted from a report published by Asian Development Bank,it falls into the category of informative text.For its cultural obstacles in translating,the translator may be confronted with the dilemma of being accurate or being efficient.Meanwhile,communicative translation is target reader-oriented approach,stressing communicative effect and taking the best advantage of target language.Therefore,my translation project report aims to combine Gender Equality and the Labor Market Women,Work,and Migration in the People’s Republic of China with communicative translation.Based on the analysis of style,words and sentences of the original text,the translation project report explores the feasible methods of translating the informative text. |
