A Report On The Translation Of Apple Inc.master Development And Supply Agreement

This is a report on the translation of archaic words and attributive clauses in the Apple Inc.Master Development and Supply Agreement.Archaic words and attributive clauses are commonly used in this Agreement.The usage of archaic words is one of the lexical features of business agreement.They are rich in meaning and play different functions in the sentence,which increases the difficulty of dealing with archaic words translation.And attributive clauses in this Agreement generally appear in complex sentence and are difficult to understand,which poses a big challenge for the author during the translation process.Therefore,it is of great significance to discuss how to make a better translation of archaic words and attributive clauses.In this report,the author proposes three translation techniques: translating into equivalent Chinese,amplification and omission for translating archaic words in this Agreement and presents four translation techniques: translating into pre-modifiers,translating into coordinate clauses,translating into independent sentences and translating into adverbial clauses to deal with attributive clauses in this Agreement.It is expected that this translation report can provide a reference for both the author and legal translators in translating archaic words and attributive clauses.
