Psychological resilience has important effects on the growth of individual development.But in the present,investigation on the left-behind middle school students'resilience is less,and it is much less on the group counseling intervention.This research first conducts a pre-test on the all students in Grade 7 and Grade 8 with "Adolescent Resilience Scale" and the results are compared.This paper also makes a comparative study on the psychological resilience of the left-behind middle school students and the non-left-behind middle school students.This study aims at investigating the present level of psychological resilience of the left-behind middle school students.We selecte 26 students who are in the low level of psychological resilience from the left-behind middle school students as the research object,and randomly divide them into experimental group and the comparative group.Only the experimental group accept group counseling.The group counseling lasts for about 8 times,once a week,90 minutes at one time.After eight times group counseling,post-test and tracking test are conducted with "Adolescent Resilience Scale" again on the experimental group and the comparative group,and the development level of psychological resilience in these 2 groups is compared.The conclusions are:1)The overall state of students' psychological resilience is at the middle and upper level,and there is no difference in the total score between the psychological resilience level of the left-behind middle school students and the non-left-behind middle school students.2)The pre-test of the experimental group and the comparative group shows that there is no significant difference between the two groups.3)The post-test of the experimental group and the comparative group shows that there is a significant difference between two groups.The level of psychological resilience of the experimental group is much higher than the comparative group.4)There is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of the experimental group.After group counseling,there is a significant improvement in the level of psychological resilience of the experimental group.5)One month later after group counseling,there is a significant difference between the results of tracking test and pre-test in the experimental group,but no significant difference between the results of the tracking test and that of the post-test.6)There was no significant difference in pre-test,post-test and tracking test in the comparative group.The research shows that group counseling has significant effect on the improvement of psychological resilience of left-behind middle school students,and it has a certain degree of retention.
