This report is on the translation practice of an excerpt from energy and electricity project.The translated text belongs to the science and technology style.The author interned at State Grid Energy Research Institute from July 2016 to July 2017.The institute is one of the master's translation practice bases of North China Electric Power University.The selected text Technology and Prospects for Global Energy Interconnection is a joint research project between State Grid Corporation of China(SGCC)and the International Energy Agency(IEA),and a SGCC 2016 technology project.Based on the translation of Technology and Prospects for Global Energy Interconnection,this report first introduces the project background,objective,significance and report structure.Second,it analyzes the text content and features.Third,it discusses skills and methods used in the translation process through translation examples under the guidance of Eugene Nida's Functional Equivalence theory.Finally,the precious experience and lessons learned in this practice are summarized,and some problems to be solved and relevant thinking are pointed out to provide a reference for target readers and translators.
